Grad Assist
Featuring Dessy & Holly from 2th Year of BA Animation 2022-2023
For the Grad Assist, Samuel and I gathered up and spoke first about what we were looking for our project. Mainly, we both wanted:
-Background Design & Colouring
Both of the students where picked by us, therefore the fact that they were assigned made us both extremely content.
Personally, we had more urgency regarding background design than anything else, therefore I sent to Dessy (whose background work I was quite a fan of) and gave her the task of making a door for one of our shots.

Perhaps I was quite free with it, but making people think, asking people the important questions and making it a challenge is what brought even more creativity for Dessy to create the background, and personally, I enjoyed it more than being on top of her background creations and was able to see her flow.

Holly- Colouring

For Holly, I did not need too much help since I was already working coloring things myself, yet a little help here and there was perfect so I would not have to think about it. In a way later on, I wish I had used Holly for colouring a bit more to speed up more shots after I noticed the amount of work that I still had to be done, but regardless, we learn with our mistakes.

What a pleasant experience it was to be able to work with these two young and talented young women and see what each had to bring to the table.
